Muchness

Living each day much muchier

Reinventing yourself

We all change when you think about it. We’re all different all through our lives. And that’s okay, that’s good. You’ve got to keeping moving. As long as you remember all the people that you used to be.
Matt Smith as The Doctor

Encourage yourself, believe in yourself, and love yourself. Never doubt who you are.

Little Miss Muchness – 3yrs old and full of sass!

Trying to believe you’re worthy is a pointless exercise and a waste of time.

Let me explain.

Worth implies price, a perception of value – whether yours or someone else’s. High or low self esteem is just you disagreeing with someone else’s estimate.

All this talk about worth and love for yourself is commodified in self-help books and makeover shows. At worst you feel lost and bemused at how some people wake up one day deciding they’re totes amazeballs. At best, you end up with a new haircut and posting it to Facebook for likes and comments.

Worth is a flawed concept. You are not revolutionising yourself. You’re just seeking more currency in the market.

To truly live with muchness, I want to step outside worth completely.

There are places within you that you don’t dare let anyone see, your private places of grieving and hoping.

There are trapped moments in your heart when you came to believe something powerful.

There’s a state of being when you first wake up in the morning, before you even open your eyes and long before you put on a brave face for the world.

Because of the depth of you, no-one’s estimate of your worth will ever match who you truly are and likewise, you’ll never see or value yourself as others do.

Truly loving yourself is doing away with worth.

Just be.

No-one can sit beside you in your quiet, trembling places, those heart-trapped moments and say that everything is going to be okay. You must do that for yourself, over and again with the wisdom of your age and as much courage as you can muster.

No-one will approve or applaud your heart’s passions. It doesn’t matter if you’re any good or what you look like doing it. Do it because you need to.  Like food nourishes the body, you’ll starve and falter for neglecting your passion. It reveals the fabric of your soul and chances are, you were built to add value to the world.

Be the self you are most afraid to be, not because it’s worth any more or less than the crafted self you project throughout the day but simply because that’s who you are.

Your soul is a seeker, lover, and artist, shape-shifting … until you land in the sweet moment of surrender when you, as dancer, disappear in the dance.
