Living each day much muchier
Earth’s crammed with heaven…
but only he who sees, takes off his shoes.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Spring has truly come to Melbourne. The warm, fragrant air is flushed with energy and life.
I feel awake, brimming with life and an appetite for the future.
I can’t remember the last time I felt this good.
I realise how blessed I am. I’m excited to go on an overseas hiking trip this Saturday for three weeks. It’ll be me, my camera and the rolling glens, lochs and Munros of Scotland… not to mention the ales and whiskies! It’s going to be amazing.
Yet, I’m not dying to get away. I don’t need to escape. I’m thrilled to go, of course, but I’m also looking forward to getting back.
I’ve filled my life with activities and people I passionately love. I’m fully myself. I’m happy.
It’s surreal. I’m actually that elusive thing we call happy.
I’m not saying everything’s charmed and life is perfect. However, I’m perfectly content with it.
This earth is crammed with heaven.
I take off my shoes.
I am deeply, joyfully reverent.
