Tradition – gratitude challenge #26

a wall of old brickTradition is the layering of meaning over time.

Brick by brick. Layer by layer. Families, cultures, nations are built by it.

Ritual without understanding is also a brick wall. It gets in the way. You bash your head against it and get restless for change.

Tradition needs fresh meaning and feeling each time. Meaning is the mortar that holds it together and what makes tradition a source of joy, connection and community.

Break down tradition if you must but remember, you’re only starting a new one.

Build traditions with love and you’ll build meaninful connections that secure your life to those around you and celebrate the passing of time together.
