Earbuds are the 21st century ‘DO NOT DISTURB’ sign.
Earbuds mean you’re not here at all. You’re currently far away in your mind.
You know what, though? After a draining day, it can be nice to set sail on soundwaves.
Spread your mental wings on the updraft of crescendo. Hide in the tender lilt of a soft voice.
Ironically, you’re more present in that world of sound than dwelling on the past and future tensions of this one.
