Why do women reach for sugar and hope to find comfort? What promise did sugar ever make so powerfully?
I think the conversation goes something like this.
Me: I am sad/stressed/wounded. I need a kindness to make up for this injury
Sugar: I am a small kindness. My pleasure will soothe your pain. I am inexpensive and easy. I’m in arm’s reach. I can be all yours.
The need is real. You need a comfort. Don’t try to power through just to spare your waistline.
Here are three small kindnesses that give real comfort.
Remember, this too shall pass.
Picture in your mind what it will look like when this is over. Be really specific. What are you wearing? Who are you with? How do you feel?
Make it happen.
