Art is our way of celebrating experience.
We are compelled to paint, photograph, write, sing, and create. We reproduce landscapes and feelings and we peer at the man behind the curtain in our society. This, we call art.
Art exposes our focus. It shows what we consider worthy of attention. Art is how we point out the world to each other.
Throughout history, we’ve glorified the beautiful and the mystical. In the present, we focus on the abstract and the ugly. We’re bent on stirring controversy.
Yet, it’s all art because it describes a small part of what it means to be alive.
Expression is a valuable practice, but it doesn’t always make valuable art.
The true artist has insight and the ability to provoke understanding.
