Change – gratitude challenge #18

i-5sW67t8-MThe most powerful form of change has come from choosing between what’s meaningful and what’s supposed to make me happy.

Lately, I have put my energy into making things look as I think others expect them to, rather than living with deep, personal integrity.

I stopped listening to my gut. I stopped standing up for what I believe. I stopped dancing. I stopped, in many ways, being me.

The carrot meme sums it up perfectly and it’s a recurring theme for me.

A wise friend of mine once said that life will always bring you back to your issues. You have a choice to go round in circles or to spiral toward a deeper understanding of yourself and the world.

I am making small changes right now, but one day soon, I will wake up and I will throw away all my excuses.
