Living each day much muchier
It’s the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary
If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it.
Want to change the world, nothing to it.
Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley –Pure imagination
It’s hot and late. I’m lying on the couch under the air conditioning feeling drowsy. The day was full with travel and sun, saltwater and sand, cheese and beer and barbequed pork. There’s no more to be had in a day.
Yet, there’s squealing in the backyard. Adults are on the trampoline being big kids.
I’m tired and wearing a maxi dress, not the right outfit for mucking around in. I’ve already had a shower. I’m ready for bed
I clamber in and we launch each other by mistiming our jumps. We try to remember tricks. Every now and then someone arcs gracefully up in the air, then staggers and falls about laughing. We’re so unpracticed.
Humidity saturates the air and bolts of electricity streak across the sky. ‘How much longer do we have?’ we ask. ‘Five minutes?’
Like kids, just five more minutes please.
I hear a dull roar in the distance. I know exactly what it means and I yell
The four of us make for the verandah, the first fat droplets falling on our heads.
We need only very small things to make life magic. It’s music when you’re cooking. It’s trying to catch a falling leaf and laughing when you fail. It’s going for a late night trampoline bounce-off.
Simple things + pure imagination = paradise.
